Wish You Were Here...

Greetings and warm wishes for the summer! Here are a few events and exhibits in which I am participating in the coming months, in Boston and Brooklyn...

I'm excited to attend Martinis & Masterpieces, TONIGHT, Wednesday, June 15th from 6 to 9 pm. Martinis & Masterpieces
is a gallery walk and art auction to benefit Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts at the 450 Harrison galleries in SoWa. It will be a night of live entertainment, specialty cocktails, fabulous food, and outstanding art. View the event website for directions and tickets. The small painting above will be part of the art auction.

Once again this year I have a painting in the Danforth Museum of Art's Juried Exhibition, which showcases new and exciting contemporary work created by artists living and working in New England. This is a really amazing show, which will be up through August 7th. You can find hours and directions at the Danforth's website.

Lastly, I'm participating in A.I.R. Gallery's exhibit, Wish You Were Here, which will be up June 22 – July 16, 2011. There are three receptions: Special Wish You Were Here Reception Wed., June 22, 6pm – 8pm, General Reception: Thurs., June 23 6pm to 8pm, and DUMBO 1st Thursday Reception: Thurs. July 7, 6pm to 9pm. A.I.R. Gallery is at 111 Front Street, Brooklyn, NY.

Off The Wall 2010 Annual Juried Exhibition, is on view at the Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham from June 12 through August 8, 2010. Jen Mergel, Senior Curator of Contemporary Art at the MFA, Boston, and Helen Molesworth, Chief Curator of the ICA, Boston selected 114 pieces from 800 works submitted by 452 artists. My painting "The Sick Child" was awarded Honorable Mention. Another painting "The Painter on Her Deathbed (Paula Modersohn-Becker)" can be seen in the A Community of Artists Exhibition, running in conjunction with Off The Wall, also curated by Jen Mergel and Helen Molesworth.

The Artists’ Reception on Thursday, June 17 from 5:30-7:30pm is free and open to the public. The address is 123 Union Avenue, Framingham, MA. If you’re not able to be at the opening, I hope you can visit the show during regular hours, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 12-5, Friday and Saturday from10-5.
